Found a settlement
- Press C to open construction.
- Select the settlement’s initial building before confirming a location.
- For the first tutorial settlement, follow the white circle. Resource buildings can use the blue resource suitability areas as a guide.
- Check the central placement tile and the invalid-location message. Left-click to confirm a valid position.
- A settlement name and the mayor-selection window are useful confirmation that the settlement has been founded.
A green outer circle is not enough: the central tile can still be red. If placement is blocked, use the placement checklist before choosing a completely different area.
Unlock building slots and level up
Equipment needs unlock additional building slots. To level up, meet the settlement’s required food and equipment consumption needs, then use Level up at the top of its window.
Check Needs fulfilled rather than relying on the presence of a road or a selected recipe. If the counter is still 4/5, the fifth requirement is not yet fulfilled. Once it reaches 5/5, the level-up action becomes available in the early settlement example.
Selecting a need does not deliver its goods instantly. Let the game run and check supply, deliveries and missing-goods warnings. The October Demo stops settlement progression at level 2.
Move an existing settlement
- Open the settlement window.
- Choose Move near the upper-left of the window.
- Pick a valid central tile near the original position, inside the same region.
- Left-click to confirm, then check the settlement’s location and road connections.
Moving is described as free and without a movement penalty. It is still restricted by distance and region. Do not assume every road remains connected after moving, or that any position inside the outer ring is legal.
Keep the next step manageable
Start with the supply a settlement needs, then add production and connect neighboring settlements. Use construction points for the difference between initial building funds and ongoing maintenance, and trade routes when goods must cross regions.
